Ketu, or Dragon’s Tail, is the shadow planet. It means that it does not have any existence, but still, it has profound malefic effects on the lives of individuals, especially if it is negatively placed in their birth chart. Thus, to nullify its adverse effects, Ketu Puja is beneficial. It can also be done when the individual has been going through the Maha Dasha or Antar Dasha of Ketu. However, it is required to check its placement in the natal chart with the guidance of an experienced astrologer.
This planet leads to the defects or "Doshas," in the birth chart, such as Kal Sarpa Dosha, in combination with Rahu. It leads to disappointments in life in many aspects, like career, marriage, relationships, etc. Thus, to reduce and remove all the ill effects of this shadow planet, you can get the Ketu Puja performed.

Follow These Rules to Benefit More from Ketu Puja
Perform the self-practice or meditate to refine your inner soul. On the Puja Day, in the morning, after taking a bath, light a Ghee lamp, and worship the deity to let them accept your prayers. If possible, observe the fast; and if it is not possible, then at least have the Sattvik meals and avoid onion, garlic, or any tamasic food. Seek blessings from the deity for a prosperous and fulfilling life.
Ketu Puja Vidhi and Rituals
Considering the Vedic Astrology, the Ketu Puja is performed in a day, but the process may be completed in many different stages. The most essential thing is to recite the Ketu Mantras, such as “ॐ ऎं ह्रीं केतवे नम:” or others as per the individual’s Horoscope requirement. The experienced and the expert Pandit takes the oath before the idols of Lord Ganesha and Lord Bholenath and recites the Ketu Mantras along with his fellow priests, citing the individual’s name, their father’s name, and their Gotra.
The other details required are the individual’s wish or Sankalpa from this Puja, and any other additional information. The priest will take all the details and start worshiping, considering the individual’s Sankalp. They will perform Ketu Homam with the Ghee, Honey, Ashtagandha, Til, Sugar, Sandalwood powder, and other Puja materials. At the end of the Puja, Pandit Ji will follow the process of “Sankalp Purti,” leading to the Puja completion.
